The LokPilot V4.0 supports DCC, Motorola and Selectrix, and can also be used for DC and AC operation, recognizing the operational mode instantly. Addresses up to 9999 in DCC operation or 255 in Motorola operation cn be programmed. LokPilot V4.0 supports all common braking systems such as Zimo HLU, Märklin or Selectrix diode braking sections, as well as Lenz ABC The LokPilot V4.0 fully supports RailCom standard and can be programmed with all current digital command stations.
For trouble-free operation, LokPilot V4.0 decoders can be connected to a PowerPac (watch for details), to keep power flowing for up to two seconds as engines run over dirty track or encounter a spot with lower voltage that could cause performance issues.
LokPilot V4.0 features an improved fifth generation of load control for better slow speed operation, especially with older 3-pole or coreless motors, and easier programming for optimum performance. LokPilot V4.0 is 9% smaller than the earlier versions, and easier to install. Decoders are offered with 8-pin or 6-pin NEM interface, 21MTC connector, and a PluX12 plug (at the wire harness) which can be directly plugged into many ROCO locomotives.
For DC operation V4.0 allows you to program starting voltage and top speed, and activate functions including load control. Each LokPilot V4.0 has four lighting function outputs with 250 mA load. Each is separately dimmable and can be connected individually to operate flashing light, firebox flicker, strobe, double strobe, ditch lights and more, long with a new high beam headlight function. The 21MTC connector version has two outputs that can be activated using the adapter board #51968 (sold separately). LED mode ensures that light effects are set correctly when using LEDs. Automatic uncoupling units from Roco, Krois and Telex can also be operated from these decoders.
LokPilot V4.0 supports all DCC programming modes including Programming on the Main and all programming is done electronically. For Märklin stations 6020, 6021, Mobile Station and Central Station, the LokPilot V4.0 employs a time proven, easily acquired programming procedure. Programmed modifications during Motorola operation are valid with DCC and Selectrix operation and vice-versa. Programming configuration variables (CVs) is especially simple for owners of our ECoS control station: all options are displayed in plain language on the large screen and can easily be edited even during operation on the layout.
Each LokPilot V4.0 decoder supports automatic reversing for operation on Märklin layouts, preventing locos leaving an analog section and entering a digital part of the layout, from instantly reversing direction. After an interruption, the decoder remembers its last status and starts up again, as quickly as possible.
Each LokPilot V4.0 is overload and short-circuit protected, updatable and can be programmed comfortably from your command station or from your PC with the help of the ESU LokProgrammer. Software updates to help you to configure each decoder will also be available online.
